Proposed road user charge and tolling regime needs some tweaks

RUC on Rails co-founder Adam Johnston told Parliament’s Transport and Infrastructure Select Committee that the proposed road user charge reforms require changes to ensure the system functions fairly. Johnston argued that the current definition of an approved RUC provider is too broad and risks entrenching incumbent players, warning that the structure being proposed “is not a competitive market”.
