The team at RUC on Rails is officially firing up another engine. Following the completion of our extensive market research phase, we have begun active development on RUC Warehouse. While our crew is currently juggling several major projects, our internal systems and development processes are moving at pace to bring this vision to life for a projected 2027 launch.

RUC Warehouse isn’t just another compliance tool; we envision it as a fun, high-energy, discount-oriented destination. The core philosophy is simple: buying at scale shouldn’t be a privilege reserved only for massive transport companies. We believe that "big consumers" the families with three cars, the tradies with a small fleet, or the serious road trippers deserve the same bulk-buying opportunities.

"We wanted to take that 'big box' retail energy and apply it to a government obligation," says Adam Johnston, CEO. "RUC is a recurring cost that every diesel and EV owner has to face. Why not make it rewarding? RUC Warehouse is designed to reward forward-planning by letting drivers secure savings on every kilometre they buy."

The platform will launch with a catalog of over 100 pre-configured "packs" tailored to specific lifestyles. Whether it is the "Dairy Run" for farmers, the "Tradie Starter Pack," or a "Family Commuter" bundle, each pack is engineered to lower the per-kilometre cost.

Technically, we are pushing the boat out on engagement. Briyarne, our CTO, and the engineering team are currently building a range of interactive features to make the "warehouse" experience truly dynamic.

"We are building more than just a list of products," Briyarne says. "The site will feature a 'Hot Deals' system with rotating, time-limited offers and a sophisticated 'Vehicle Matching' panel. We want the process of finding and buying a pack to be as responsive and engaging as a modern e-commerce store, not a dry admin portal."

While we are still in the early phases of construction, the groundwork is being laid to ensure we are ready for the massive 2027 transition when petrol vehicles enter the RUC system. In the meantime, we invite you to stay in the loop by joining our mailing list for development updates.

Bulk RUC. Bulk Savings. It’s about time Kiwi drivers got a better deal.
